Employability
Taiwan Tech’s close ties with industry are deeply rooted in its history. Founded in 1974 as an Institute of Technology, Taiwan Tech and the School of Management (SOM) have maintained strong and enduring partnerships with industry, contributing significantly to Taiwan’s industrialization in the 70s and 80s and its evolution into a global high-tech economy.
Taiwan Tech is widely recognized for the strong employability of its graduates, as reflected in major global rankings by Times Higher Education (THE) and QS, as well as national surveys conducted by Global Views Monthly/Cheers Magazine. In the 2025 THE Global Employability University Ranking, Taiwan Tech was ranked 82nd worldwide—second in Taiwan and the only university of science & technology nationwide to place within the global top 100. To ensure education remains closely aligned with industry needs, SOM regularly invites experienced business leaders and entrepreneurs, many of whom are alumni, to participate in teaching and curriculum development.
Developing future leaders for technology-driven industries is a key strategic priority for Taiwan Tech. The university works closely with leading technology companies to provide students with diverse learning and practical opportunities, while conducting forward-looking research that responds to rapidly evolving industry needs. Global firms such as Foxlink Precision Industries, Delta Electronics, and King Pax Technology have established research centers on campus. In addition, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) collaborates with SOM through dedicated programs and courses, further enhancing students’ competitiveness in the technology sector.
