Employability

Taiwan Tech’s connection with the world of practice is embedded in its DNA. Founded in 1974 as an Institute of Technology to meet Taiwan’s demand for highly trained engineers and management talent, Taiwan Tech and the SOM (or its predecessor) have built strong ties with the business community from the very beginnings. By quickly responding to the training and manpower demands of Taiwan's industry, the SOM has greatly contributed to Taiwan's industrialization process in the 1970s and 1980s, and to its transformation to a leading high-tech nation.

Locally and internationally, Taiwan Tech has built up a reputation for its highly employable graduates, as shown in international employability rankings (THE, QS) and in annual surveys conducted by the CommonWealth/Cheers Magazine, where Taiwan Tech has topped the ranking in the area of cooperate connections/ industry collaboration for five consecutive years (2017 - 2021). Experienced business leaders and young entrepreneurs -  who are often SOM alumni -  are invited to teach courses at SOM, ensuring that our education will keep abreast with the latest business trends and developments in industry.

As the nurturing of future leaders in technology industries is one of our strategic priorities, we are working closely with the technology industry as to arrange eductional opportunities for our students, and to conduct cutting-edge research that responds to the needs of this rapidly evolving sector. Leading technology firms, such as Foxlink Precision Industries,  Delta Electronics or King Pax Technology, have recognized Taiwan Tech’s potential, and set up research centers and facilities on Taiwan Tech campus.
