Yu-Chung Tsao, Chair Professor
Dean, School of Management
National Taiwan University of Science and Technology
In an era characterized by rapid technological advancement and profound industrial transformation, management education and research are no longer limited to knowledge transmission. They play a critical role in driving industrial innovation, addressing societal challenges, and cultivating future leaders. Leveraging the distinctive strengths of a technology-oriented university, our school is committed to integrating management theory, technological innovation, and practical application to develop impactful and action-oriented business leaders.
Our vision is to become a premier management school in the Asia-Pacific region. Guided by our mission to conduct first-class scholarship, foster first-class leaders, and create first-class impact, we uphold five core values: Technology Creation, Innovative Practice, Global Perspective, Industry Connection, and Social Responsibility. We firmly believe that meaningful research must address real-world problems, and effective education must respond to the evolving needs of industry and society.
Our strategic direction is built upon three key pillars.
First, Integration and Application of Research, which emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration and strong industry–academia partnerships to advance original, applicable research that generates tangible value for industry and society. Second, Integration of Teaching and Research for Talent Excellence, which embeds cutting-edge research and practical experience into curriculum design through interdisciplinary programs, industry co-teaching, and internationalized learning, thereby cultivating leaders with technological insight, managerial competence, and global vision. Third, Cross-Domain Collaboration and Sustainable Engagement, which strengthens international partnerships and social engagement while embedding sustainability and social responsibility into governance and talent development, amplifying our long-term societal impact.
At its core, the School of Management is dedicated to cultivating technology-driven, innovative business leaders. We value academic autonomy and freedom, and we emphasize balanced excellence across research, teaching, and service. We warmly invite students, faculty, alumni, industry partners, and the broader community to join us in building a school that delivers practical, scalable, and enduring impacts.
